You are probably either more task-oriented or more people-oriented. If you are more task-oriented, you most often focus on getting things done, can more readily lose yourself in a project, and are not as easily consumed with what those around you are thinking or feeling. If you are more people-oriented, you most often like to engage with people rather than things, have a good grasp on how those around you feel, and will probably suspend focus on tasks in order to attend to how people around you feel.
It is good for each of us to be both of these ways at certain times, and the most important thing is to know when to switch from one mode to the other. It is also helpful to know toward which you are typically oriented. This allows you to be more flexible in being the way you need to be in a given situation. This is one of the benefits of self-knowledge!
